Oil on canvas board by Joan Howe depicting a peaceful domestic garden beside a white clapboard house with dark shutters. A vibrant flower bed filled with pink and red blossoms forms the visual centerpiece of the composition, bordered by a simple stone edging that contrasts with the surrounding expanse of lush green lawn. Near the house, one female figure rests on a wooden bench, dressed in pink. Sunlight filters across the façade of the house and through the garden, creating dappled patterns of light and shadow that lend warmth and depth to the scene.Type of Painting
