Description

Silver plate sugar bowl with lid set on 4 scrolled feet embellished with molded grapes and leaves. Belly of pot embossed with bunch of grapes, leaves and tendrils on either side of handles, with slight indentation to form v-shape. Lid decorated with ring of embossed grapes, leaves and tendrils with a mushroom shaped finial. Stamped on bottom in circle "Forbes Silver Co/ Quadruple" around center with eagle head profile turned to right. "2 1 6 " stamped outside of circle. Same pattern as T2004.072 creamer. Forbes Silver company established 1894; joined International Silver Co. in 1898. Trademark stll used 'til 1935, though Quadruple may have stopped being used in 1896, which Meridan (Forbes parent co.) stopped using it. *Loaned to QHS as of 4/21/21
