Description

Mahogany desk and book case on 4 front paw and acanthus leaf feet, straight cornice, fold front desk and 2 drawers and 2 cupboard with circular wood knobs. Bookcase has three adjustable shelves. Many early 20th century newspaper reports state that this desk belonged to John Alsop King and returned to the museum in 1903. It was a gift of Mrs. Gherardi Davis, a descendant of James Gore King through Fredericka King. Said to be Charles King's desk EDIT: This desk was French polished and the doors reattached by Double Queue pro-bono on 9/2/2017
