Set of 4 dolls on handmade display platform with 2 levels. Three of the dolls are attached to stands. The fourth doll is unattached by the stand is attached to the platform. Stage has brocade material attached to upper level to create a courtain, that acts as a backdrop for the 2 dolls (originally 3). Dolls are made of a ceramic material; the arms are a yellow tint and the faces a pink tint. Hands are molded in same splayed fashion. Head size in 2 inches.

A - Displayed on top level, blond hair ceramic doll with blue glass movable eyes, painted on eyebrows, eyelashes and red lips, in dramatic pose, dressed in brocade gown with cape and fringe collar, holding a bouquet of flowers in her left hand. Rhinestone necklace draped over head, neck and body. She has undergarment, socks, 1 black shoe with square metal buckle.
B - Left side, base, Brown hair ceramic doll with blue glass moving eyes, painted eyebrows, eyelashes and lips, dressed white dress and pinafore, nursing uniform, with sewing objects: double pin cushion, metal pin, metal safety pin, and metal thread cutter in leather sheath, attached at waist. Lace undergarments, blacksocks, no shoes, and white head cover.
C- Center, base, seated, ceramic doll with brown, wavy hair, blue glass eyes, painted eyebrows, eyelashes and lips, dressed in black satin dress with cap sleeves, lace collar, and beaded rope around waist with doll size metal key attached. Regular size kep attached with ribbon to doll's right wrist. Black knit socks, no shoes, black ribbon attaached to front of hair. White slip peaks out between legs.
D - Right base, unattached. Light brown hair, brown glass eyes, painted eyebrows, eyelashes, and orange lips with a few upper teeth. Dressed in blue and white plaid cotton dress with matching shoulder cape attached with snap closure. Orange crochet basket with flowers around doll's left wrist. White head shawl. Undergarments and black knit socks, no shoes.

Mrs. Sapleton and Eve Bush dressed by Delta Nally [spelling?]/ Lady Kitty Alexander Duer dressed as the Chairman of / the Ladies Committee receiving President Washington at his first official reception as President of the United States, May 7th, 1789./ Refurbished by Henrietta Van Sise - August 1972."
