Description

Ivory silk two piece dress of Ottoman cloth having long sleeved high-necked boned front closure, the draped, flounced bodice decorated with chainstitched lace ruffle and organdy ruching, the sleeves finished with organdy flounce; the skirt having padded bustle and train finished with a lace flounce; label on waist belt reads "N.P. Doyle/Elizabeth" Old note indicates this may be the dress worn by Emily Louise Vincent, daughter of Emily Halsey Vincent for her marriage to James Hude (Hucle?) Neilson May 24, 1899, donated by Elmer V. H. Corwin (sic) EDIT 3/2019: Old inventory states that we have a wedding dress worn by Emily Halsey Vincent 1899 (belonging originally to Eliza Gracie King) donated by Charles V.H. Corwin -is thies x1995.114? Chronology seems off unless this dress was significantly altered.
