Painting: Oil on canvas. Full portrait of yound girl in 18th century dress. (Perhaps of Johanna Smith?). She is wearing a blue/green gown, maybe of silk taffeta. Her bodice is trimmed with lace and she has a red rose on the center front neckline of her bodice. Over her skirt she is wearing a lace apron, and her red shoes with jeweled buckle(s) and/or embroidery are clearly seen from under her skirt. In her hands she is holding a garland of flowers with another red rose in the center. The background is of a room in a house. The wood moulding on the back wall can be seen as can a window. Outside of the window are three trees. The young girl is also wearing a blue ribbon in her blonde hair, a pearl(?) choker and earrings.
Frame: Hand carved, wooden frame with gold leaf. Carved decoration is of scrolls and leaf motiffs all around the frame.Collection
