Painting: Oil on canvas. Portrait of seated, older woman in three-quarter view. She is wearing a dark/black dressing gown/robe which has tulle/net collar. Also protruding from the neck is a sheer ruffled collar/fichu. She is wearing an indoor cap of fine, white dotted cotton(?) trimmed with ribbons and edged with lace. She is holding a red paisley shawl.
Back of canvas has writing: "Painted by H. Bridport/ Aug. 1823/ Schec y"
