Painting: Oil on canvas. Portrait of seated male with three-quarter profile. He is wearing a dark/black coat with vest, white shirt and white cravat simply knotted, and tucked into his vest. He holds a red book and has red, tufted hair. His right arm is resting on the chair back.
Canvas is signed on back with: "Painted by H. Bridport/ Aug. 1823/ Schen.y"
Possibly Leonard Seaman or his father (portraits donated by Mrs. Rosa M. Fleury in 1914)
Frame: Wood frame with gold leaf and applied gesso ornamentation all around the rabbet. Also applied floral bouquets on all four corners.Collection
