Fancy arm chair with ebonized finish and gold banding, and straw seat. (Straw was coated with a substance in order to harden). Back has a set of horizontal splats, the upper consisting of three narrow splats, which have three balls in between a pair of splats, totalling six balls. The lower consists of only two narrow splats with only three balls between them. Curved arms, ornately turned forelegs and forearms. Simple double spindle stretcher on sides and single spindle stretchers on front and back; the front is worked with an oval in the center.Collection
