Description

Empire waist, Batiste gown with train and whitework embroidery. Drawstring neck and waist. The centerback is gathered below the waist. Half sleeves are embroidered with dots and crescents. The daffodil embroidery begins below the bust waist, continues along the front of the gown and goes along the hem, all around the edge of the train. NOTE** As of August 2020 the gown has been returned to King Manor Museum after being conserved by The Textile Conservation Workshop, Inc. in South Salem, NY. The gown was conserved through a grant given by GHHN. Conservator: Meredith Wilcox-Levine
