Letter written by John A. King to:
"Colonel William H. Ludlow.../Jamaica LI/Feby. 17th 1863
Dear Sir/ A widow, an acquaintance and neighbor of mine is very anxious to learn from an authentic
source some tidings of her son David Bell a private in company I of the 40th New York Regiment,
known as the Mozart Regiment; who was wounded and taken prisoner at the battle of Fredericksburgh.
Any information you may have it in your power to give respecting him, whether he is still a prisoner,
or has been exchanged, and if so, where he may now be heard of, will greatly relieve her anxiety, and will
oblige/Your friend/and (?) John A. King."Collection
