Thomas Kinsman Jr. built a dwelling and this sizable barn at 8698 State Street. The barn was raised in 1907, the date also captured in the slate work of the roof. Standing in the barn are carpenters Hal Sharp, second from the left, Art Loomis, third from left, and Herm Gilder, fifth from left. The large man in front to the right with dark trousers and white shirt is Tom Kinsman, the man in light work clothes to his left is Dyer Gilder. The group to the far left starts with Mrs. Tom Kinsman, Mrs. Fred Plant with son Sidney in profile beside her. The boy standing near the barn is Phil Webber. The Barn was owned by Gilbert Gates on State Road in the 1980s.
