Park Ave Commandery Charter

Description

Park Ave Commandery Charter Original charter issued in 1976 establishing Park Avenue Commandery, Knights Templar, in Memphis, Tennessee. This document represents the formal authorization for the Commandery’s formation and operation under the governing Masonic authority at the time. The charter reflects the lineage and institutional continuity of Templar Masonry in the region. Park Avenue Commandery remained active for several decades before merging in 2025 with Rosemark Commandery to form Southwest Tennessee Commandery. As such, this charter serves as a foundational historical artifact documenting the origins of one of the predecessor bodies contributing to the present Commandery structure. The document holds significance for its role in illustrating the organizational development, consolidation, and ongoing evolution of York Rite Masonry in Southwest Tennessee. It provides insight into local Masonic history, membership continuity, and the preservation of institutional identity across successive generations.
