Glass commemorative tankard pressed with the head of King Edgar in a triangular box. Each tankard has an individual number and Dartington Glass produces a different commemorative tankard every year. The tankard was designed by Frank Thrower and handmade in Torrington, North Devon, England.

Context

The glass tankard was made by Dartington in 1973 commemorating 1000th anniversary the coronation of the first King of England, Edgar. Edgar was crowned in Bath in 973 CE and was the first long to unite and reign over a stable realm. It was given to Mrs. Jessie Jordan by Jack, Nadine, and Deirdre.
