5-band harem ring in a mint green ring box. The Harem ring is made of 5 bands attached with a bar and set with gemstones. There are three white gems, four purple, and two green. The style origin of the ring dates to the Ottoman Empire, where Sultans would often gift the piece of jewelry to their favorite women.

Context

The 5-banded Harem ring was given to Mrs. Jessie Jordan by Mr. Conrad Hilton in the 1950s. Mr. Hilton was an American businessman known for founding the Hilton Hotel chain. Additionally, Mr. Hilton was the Republican representative in the first New Mexico Legislature from 1912-1916. Mr. Hilton was also the first husband of actress Elizabeth Taylor; she would go on to marry six other men after their divorce. He opened the Istanbul Hilton Hotel in 1955, the first Hilton hotel to be opened outside the Americas.
