Description

Gold compact from Kuwait Masonic Lodge 6810. The compact would have held a small face powder and is engraved with the Kuwait Lodge seal, which has a small Kuwaiti dhow and the traditional Freemason square and compass.

Context

The small gold powder compact was given to Mrs. Jessie Jordan during a Ladies Night at Kuwait Masonic Lodge 6810 in 1952 when she was the “Guest of Honor.” Mrs. Jordan was honored at many Ladies Nights during her time in Kuwait and was often the “Guest of Honor” at such events. Ladies Nights in the Masonic Lodge are designed to honor the women in a Freemason’s life, whether that be a wife, daughter, sister, mother, or other supporting woman.
