The silver cup was made by Garrard & Co, Ltd. in London and is engraved with the "GARDENING 1948-1961 KUWAIT EXTENSIVE EFFORTS THROUGHOUT FOURTEEN YEARS,” indicating Mrs. Jordan’s commitment to the organization. Garrard & Co, Ltd. has been manufacturing luxury jewelry and silver since 1735 in London, England, and was the first official crown jeweler for the British royal family.

Context

The small silver trophy cup was presented to Mrs. Jessie Jordan at her last Ahmadi Horticultural Society Garden Annual Meeting upon her husband’s retirement in 1961 and their return to Texas. Mrs. Jordan was highly dedicated to such clubs and often presented the trophies at many of the meetings.
