Description

Small chased silver rectangular box with debossed decoration of horses on top. It depicts a monabat-kari-style decoration of a hunting scene of Bahram V, with figures on horseback pursuing various animals with dogs. There are lions, rabbits, foxes and dear, all within a rectangular reserve and arched pediment. The edge is bordered with birds in foliage (golo morph) and guilloche below. The sides are engraved with a ghalam zani decoration of peony cartouches and arabesques. It was likely made in Isfahan, Iran around the 1960s.
