Description

Set of two carved ivory elephants. They are Asian elephants. One has its trunk in the air with tusks and the other has its trunk down. Among Asian elephants, most males have tusks and females do not. They were made in India.

Context

The pair of elephants were gifted to the Jordans by a member of the Kuwait Oil Company upon their return home from India.
