Description

19th century silver repousse box from Persia, now modern-day Iran. The box depicts a woman dancing with two other figures playing instruments on either side.

Context

The box was likely picked up by Jordans on one of their many trips to the Middle East. Additionally, Mr. Leland T. Jordan was a smoker for part of his adult life and likely used this as a cigar box.
