Small silver rectangular lipstick box decorated with a green stone and floral/vine designs. There is a mirror on the inside. The lipstick is likely Italian and made during the 1920-1940s. It is hand-etched and has an authentic jade stone.

Context

The lipstick was given to Mrs. Jessie Jordan by Soraya Esfandiary-Bakhtiary, wife of the Shah of Persia. Soraya was married to Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and reigned as queen consort of Iran from 1951 to 1958.
