One place setting of Royal Crown Derby China with gold and red pattern. The setting contains one fork, one knife, one small plate, one teacup, and one saucer all with the same design. The settling was made by Royal Crown Derby, who has been producing tableware and ornamental items since the 1750s and is known for their high-quality bone China made in England. The place setting contains red/gold heraldic motifs and a small seal with a Kuwaiti falcon and Arabic script reading “J.A.J.AL-SABAH.”

Context

The bone China place setting belonged to the Jordan family and was likely given to them by Sheikh Jabel Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah of Kuwait. Sheikh Jabel Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah was the Minister of Finance from 1962-1965, Prime Minister of Kuwait from 1965-1978, and Emir of Kuwait from 1977-2006.
