L.T. Jordan's 1929 class ring from Texas A&M University.: Image of L.T.'s Aggie class ring, it is gold with eagle and shield on the front. There is an embossed "29" under the shield, representing his class year. Around the center it reads "A&M COLLEGE OF TEXAS" The ring sits on a black pad inside a black box with gold trim. The inside of the lid of the box reads "Balfour" in gold cursive on a white satin background. The ring is in what is known as the "antique" style, with black coloring in the grooves of the gold.

Description

L.T. Jordan Aggie Ring, Class of '29 inside black and gold Balfour box. The ring is likely not original as Balfour was not making rings when L.T. was in school. It was likely remade sometime after 1948.

Context

L.T. Jordan graduated from Texas A&M University in 1929 with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering. While there are records of L.T. owning an Aggie ring before moving to Venezuela, this ring is not the original. The Balfour box and inscription on the inside of the ring indicate that it was not made until at least 1948, as that is when the Balfour company first gained a contract to produce the rings. Additionally, the Texas and United States flags were not added behind the crossed cannon, rifle, and saber until 1935, which is present on this ring.
