Set of Royal Crown Derby knives given to Mrs. Jessie Jordan.: Image of the set of six knives decorated with a Royal Crown Derby posies pattern. They are in a red leather case with a cream felt interior. There are two cards, the left one reads "MRS. JORDAN" and the right one reads "The Story of Crown Derby." On the inside of the lid, there is a gold printed image of the seal of the Kuwait Masonic Lodge. The seal has a Kuwaiti dhow in the middle and the traditional Masonic compass at the center bottom.

The set of six knives are decorated with a Royal Crown Derby posies pattern. Royal Crown Derby has been producing tableware and ornamental items since the 1750s and is known for their high-quality bone China.

Context

These knives were presented to Mrs. Jessie Jordan when she was the Guest of Honor at Kuwait Masonic Lodge No. 6810’s Ladies’ Night. Mrs. Jordan was honored at many Ladies Nights during her time in Kuwait and was often the “Guest of Honor” at such events. Ladies Nights in the Masonic Lodge are designed to honor the women in a Freemason’s life, whether that be a wife, daughter, sister, mother, or other supporting woman.
