Description

Small pressed silver-plated rectangular box with a 1/4 dinar banknote from Iraq. Based on the design of the note, it was likely printed in 1953-1959. The man on the note is King Faisal II as a young man. King Faisal II was the last King of Iraq from 1939-1958 until he was killed during the 14 July Revolution. His assassination marked the end of the Hashemite monarchy in Iraq and the birth of the republic. A ¼ dinar is roughly equal to 0.82 cents in United Stated dollars.
