Description

All. Fire and Safety, 1979. These three black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show three men and two women posing individually for portrait-style photos. Image 40 shows a bearded man (Ken Parsons) wearing glasses, a tie and a suit jacket with a plaid pattern facing toward the camera and smiling. Image 41 is nearly identical to image 20. Image 42 is similar to the previous two images, but here Mr. Parsons is smiling less. Image 43 is similar to the previous image, but here Mr. Parsons is not smiling. Image 44 shows a balding man with a mustache wearing glasses and a polo shirt facing toward the camera and not smiling. Images 1 and 2 are nearly identical to image 44. Image 3 is similar to the previous three images, but here the man is smiling. Image 4 shows a man (Dale Parsons) with a receding hairline looking toward the camera and smiling. His head is tilted toward his right slightly. Images 5 and 6 are nearly identical to image 4. Image 7 shows a woman with large-framed glasses wearing a floral-print shirt posing for photos. Images 8 and 9 are nearly identical to image 7. Image 10 shows an older woman wearing a vest over a button-up shirt posing for a photo. Ken Balsley believed that "All. Fire and Safety" is a reference to Alliance Fire and Safety. Printed at intervals along the top edge of all of these film negative strips is "KODAK SAFTEY FILM 5063."
