School Lunch Program, 1973. These three black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show three women working in a commercial kitchen, one woman serving food to children, and children seated at desks in a classroom with trays of food in front of them. Image 20 shows a woman holding a mostly empty metal try above a very large cooking pot. Image 21 shows the woman from the previous image using a paddle to stir the food in the very large pot. Image 22 shows a different woman holding onto the edges of a large metal tray with what appears to be seven pies on top of it. Image 23 is similar to the previous image, but here the woman is not touching the tray with the pies on it. She is reaching to grab something off of a shelf in front of her. Image 24 shows three women standing around a table preparing lunches. There is a row of partially-filled school lunch trays on the table in the middle of the women. Image 25 is very similar to the previous image, but here the woman on the far right is looking toward the camera. Image 26 shows a woman ladling food onto a lunch tray. A line of students are waiting to be served. Image 27 is similar to the previous image, but here the woman is handing a lunch tray to a child. Image 28 shows students seated at individual desks in a classroom. Each students has a tray of food in front of them on their desks. The nearest child appears to be only 3-4 feet from the camera. Image 29 is similar to the previous image, but here the photographer has moved further away from the students.Made/Created
