Description

Mexican Days, 1975. These three black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show many people dressed in Old West attire and Mexican traditional clothing. Image 42 shows a woman with a feather in her hair and a feather boa around her shoulders standing between two men, both in cowboy attire. The man on the right has a mustache. Image 43 is nearly identical to image 42. Image 44 is very similar to the previous two images, but the man in cowboy attire on the left is leaning backward somewhat. Image 1 is similar to the previous three images, but here the man on the left is looking toward the camera. Image 2 shows three people wearing sombreros. None of these three people's heads are visible in the image. Image 3 shows a woman with short hair in profile. In the background are many people seated in stands. This image is blurry. Image 4 shows many children dressed in traditional Mexican costumes. Image 5 is very similar to the previous image, but here the photographer has zoomed in slightly on the group of children. Image 6 shows an older woman with short hair and glasses. At the right-hand side of the image is a young man with his mouth wide open. Image 7 shows a young man and a young woman seated amongst a crowd. Image 8 shows the crowd at the event. A portion of a sombrero brim is visible at the right-hand edge of the image. Image 9 is very similar to image 8. Printed in alternation along one long edge of these film negative strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM."
