Unidentified People, Unknown Dates. These five black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images were created using three separate film rolls, so some of the physical numbers on the strips are repeated. For the purposes of this description, these strips will be grouped according to the film roll from which they originally came. Each group will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with the physical numbers on the strips (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images.
The images in group "a" show a man making hamburgers on a flat-top grill. Image 31a shows the man from the hip-up. Images 32a and 33a are nearly identical to image 31a. Image 34a still shows the man making hamburgers, but here he is visible from the knee-up. Image 35a and 36a are nearly identical to image 34a.
The images in group "b" show three women (the shortest of these women appears to be Lavania McArthur) and one man standing together and talking. Behind the people is a large wall display of pamphlets advertising travel destinations. These images were likely captured at the South Sound Travel agency. Image 29b shows the three women and one man speaking. All four people are looking down at a pamphlet in the hands of the shortest woman. Image 30b is similar to the previous image, but here the man is looking toward the shorter woman's face. Image 31b is nearly identical to image 29b. Image 32b is nearly identical to image 30b. Image 33b shows the man , the shortest woman, and one of the other women standing together and talking. Image 34b is nearly identical to image 33b. Image 35b shows the man and one of the taller women facing eachother. Both are touching a pamphlet held between them which advertises Yugoslavia and Greece. Both the man and woman are looking at the pamphlet. Image 36b is similar t the previous image, but the man and woman are looking toward the camera. Image 37b is nearly identical to image 36b.
The images in group "c" shows two young men posing individually for portrait-style photos. Image 15c shows a young man wearing a polo shirt smiling. He is facing slightly toward the left-hand side of the image frame. Image 14c is nearly identical to image 13c. Image 13c is very similar to the previous two images, but here the young man is facing slightly toward the right-hand side of the image frame.
Image 22c shows a young man wearing a hooded sweatshirt over a button-up shirt. He is smiling and facing slightly toward the left-hand side of the image frame. Image 21c shows the young man no longer smiling. Image 20c is very similar to image 22c, but here the young man is facing slightly toward the right-hand side of the image frame.Made/Created
