Unidentified People, 1975, These nine black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images were created using four different film rolls, so some of the physical numbers on the strips are repeated. For the purposes of this description, these strips will be grouped according to the film roll from which they originally came. Each group will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with the physical numbers on the strips (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images.
The images in group "a" show two women speaking next to a piano and two men passing a small document from one to the other. Image 4a shows two women standing next to a piano. The woman on the left is holding a football and is wearing a large shirt which reads "OLYMPIA FOOTBALL" across the front. The woman on the right is wearing a dress and is holding open a book of music. The women are looking at each other. Image 5a is similar to the previous image, but here the woman on the left is no longer holding a football. Image 6a shows the woman on the right resting her left forearm on top of the piano. Image 7a shows the woman in the football shirt seated at the piano, and she is playing the piano. The football is sitting next to her on the piano bench. Image 8a is very similar to the previous image, but here the woman in the football shirt is not playing the piano. Image 9a is similar to image 8a, but here the woman in the dress is leaning down on a ledge on the piano near to the keys. Image 11a shows two men in suits facing each other and passing a small document from one to the other. The man on the right is wearing glasses. Both men are looking at each other and smiling. Images 15b and 16b are nearly identical to image 14b. Image 29b shows Ken Balsley seated at a desk. He is wearing glasses and has a goatee. He is facing toward the left-hand side of the image frame.
