Unidentified People, Unknown Dates. These seven black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images were created using three separate film rolls, so some of the physical numbers on the strips are repeated. For the purposes of this description, these strips will be grouped according to the film roll from which they originally came. Each group will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with the physical numbers on the strips (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images.
The images in group "a" show several paper documents on a desk, the one on top titled "THINGS TO DO TODAY." These images also show fourteen people posing for group photos. Image 7a shows the documents laying on the desk. The document on top reads "THINGS TO DO TODAY" across the top. This image is slightly blurry. Image 8a is very similar to image 7a, but here the image is not blurry. Image 9a is similar to image 8a, but here the photographer has panned upward slightly. Piles of paper and a portion of a map are visible at the top of the image. Image 10a shows fourteen people posing outdoors for a group photo. The woman at the far right is wearing a polka-dotted dress. Images 11a through 21a are nearly identical to image 10a.
The images in group "b" show an older woman with glasses posing separately next to two different paintings. Image 27b shows the woman standing next to a painting of a unicorn amongst leaves. This painting appears to be on velvet. The woman is looking down at the painting. Image 28b is very similar to image 27b, but here the woman is looking toward the camera. Image 29b is nearly identical to image 28b. Image 30b shows the same woman from the previous three images, but here she is standing in front of a landscape painting hanging on a wall. She is holding a paint brush, but does not appear to be working on the painting. The woman is looking toward the camera. Image 31b is nearly identical to image 30b. Image 32b is very similar to the previous two images, but here the woman is looking toward the painting. Image 33b is nearly identical to image 32b.
The images in group "c" show a man in a plaid jacket and glasses standing next to a bed in what appears to be a bed store/showroom. Image 10c shows the man pointing toward the nearest bed with his right hand. Image 11c is nearly identical to image 10c. Image 12c is very similar to the previous two images, but here the man has both arms down at his sides. Image 13c shows the man pointing toward the camera. Image 14c shows the man without his glasses on.
The images in group "d" show an older man in glasses and a cardigan touching some pieces of glassware which may be oil lamps or candle holders. Images 14d and 15d are nearly identical.
Printed at intervals along one long edge of all of these film negative strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM 5063."Made/Created
