Pay 'n Save Grand Opening, Unknown Date. These two black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show shoppers attending the grand opening of the Pay 'n Save store in South Sound Center.
Image 32 shows an elevated view of the store. Near the bottom-left corner is a man in a suit looking toward the camera and giving a thumbs-up. Image 33 shows another elevated shot of the store. At the center of the image is a sign with the number 36 on it. Image 34 shows a person in the foreground wearing a raincoat and facing away from the camera. In the middleground and two women facing each other and talking, and in the background is a male store employee with glasses facing generally toward the camera and smiling. Image 35 shows the check-out lines at the store. At left is a woman carrying a purse walking away from the camera. Image 36 again shows the check-out lines, but here the back side of a person's left arm and left part of their torso are visible at the right-hand edge of the image. Image 37 again shows the check-out lines. One male and one female employee are visible at the right-hand edge of the image frame. Image 38 shows a man kneeling down on the floor and duct-taping an electrical cord to the floor. Image 39 is very similar to image 34. Image 40 shows the check-out lines. An older woman facing toward the right is occupying the bottom-left corner of the image. Image 41 shows the check out lines. At the left-hand edge of the image a man olding a yardstick is visible. The yardstick has "Pay' 'n Save" printed on it.
Printed in alternation along one long edge of these two film negative strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM 5063."Made/Created
