Greg's Fireplace, 1973. These three black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show two men posing by a Greg's Fireplace sign on a wall, a man reaching into a fireplace, and a man cutting meat. The older man is Wendell Gregory, the owner of Greg's Fireplace. The younger man may be Steven Wendell Gregory, one of Wendell Gregory's sons.
Image 10 shows two men standing next to a sign on a wall which reads "Greg's Fireplace." The man on the left is wearing a pinstriped shirt and the man on the right (Wendell Gregory) is wearing glasses and has a pocket protector in his breast pocket. The man in the pinstriped shirt is closer to the camera, and he is facing away from the camera. Image 11 is similar to the previous image, but here the photographer has moved closer to the man with glasses. Image 12 shows the man with glasses reaching out and touching the second G in the "Greg's" part of the sign. Image 13 is similar to image 10, but here the man in glasses appears to be walking and the man in the pinstriped shirt is looking toward the camera. Image 14 shows the man with glasses reaching into a free-standing fireplace with a conical top. Image 15 is nearly identical to image 14. Image 16 shows a man in an apron handling what appears to be pieces of beef in a commercial kitchen or meat cutting department of a grocery store. Image 17 is similar to image 16, but here an unknown object in the foreground is obscuring most of the bottom of the image. Image 18 shows the man using both hands to do something with a piece of meat. A bandsaw is visible in the background.
Printed in alternation along one long edge of both of these film negative strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM."Made/Created
