Description

Tenino Labor Day Princesses, 1973. This single black and white contact print strip was created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show three young women (from left to right: Pam Padgett, Tawanna Andrews and Pam Smith) posing together for group photos. Image 11 shows the three young women wearing long, vertically striped dresses with short sleeves. They are also wearing hats with wide, wavy brims and gloves. They are in an empty lot, and there is the side of a large building visible in the background. This image was taken with all three of the girls nearly equidistant from the camera. This image is oriented vertically. Image 12 is very similar to the previous image, but here the photographer has moved slightly to their left and slightly closer to the three young women. Image 13 is nearly identical to image 11. Image 14 is very similar to image 12, but here the image is oriented horizontally. These images appear to have been captured for inclusion with an article concerning the Tenino Labor Day Celebration. However, none of these images appear to have been used to accompany the story. ("Tenino 'Labor Day' events start Saturday," Lacey Leader, 8/29/1973)
