Description

Black and white negative of a crane at a lumber mill. In the foreground are boards laid flat. Behind them are stacks of lumber, and behind them is a massive crane. The crane is mounted on a steel-beam structure. On top of that is a square structure that looks like a small building. Above that is the boom of the crane. It is a cantalevered frame made up of steel pieces fitted together. There is a balancing weight at one end, and a rolling pulley with suspended cables half way to the other end. At the left of the image are what look like pipes in a triangular pattern. There is a white border on all sides, and in the bottom border is "#55" and "1927". This negative is inserted into a brown envelope along with a print of the image. Typed on the envelope is "Olympia--Crane at Buchanan Mill 1927". Stamped is "55" and "indexed".
