Description

Black and white negative of a house in New Orleans. There is a dirt driveway in the foreground and a two story building with a one story portion on the right. The building has a door and windows with shutters on the ground floor, and a balcony and windows on the second floor. There is a window on the side, and a flag pole at the corner. Other buildings are visible in the background. There is a white border on all sides, and in the bottom border is "#218" and "10/15/29". The negative is inserted along with a print of the image into a brown envelope that has typed "New Orleans--Firts Brick House built in the Mississippi Valley. Constructed from bricks brought over from France as ballast. Built for a Nunnery and still used by the Church 10/15/29". Stamped is "218" and "indexed".
