Description

Black and white negative of oyster shells behind a building. In the foreground is a dirt street or alley. To the left of the image is a large pile of shells along with some containers. Behind that is a two-story building with a covered porch. Windows are visible in the second floor, and telephone poles and other structures are visible in the background. At the right is the rear of a truck parked on the road. There is a white border on all sides, and in the bottom border is "#229" and "10/15/29". The negative is inserted along with a print of the image into a brown envelope that has typed "New Orleans--Oyster Shells Back of French Market 10/15/29". Stamped is "229" and "indexed".
