Description

Black and white photo of two oyster boats. There is water in the foreground with what appears to be a containment boom. The near boat is low in the water with a deck that is partly open and partly filled with a deck house. In the open deck are various items including what appears to be gasoline engines. Behind the boats is a floating dock with its attendant pilings and supports. Further back is a ramp and a building with what appears to be large doors at the bottom and at the top is part of a sign says "racks St. Wharf". There is a white border on all sides, and in the bottom border is "#236" and "10/16/29". On the back is "2402". This print is inserted along with a negative of the image into a brown envelope that has typed "New Orleans--Oyster Boats on the Mississippi 10/16/29". Stamped is "236" and "indexed".
