Mr. Rags, 1973. This single black and white contact print strip was created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show interior shots of a clothing store within South Sound Center, as well as shots of the clothing store's entrance. Image 26 shows the interior of the store. Four circular clothing racks are visible in the image, and the nearest rack to the camera is in the bottom-right corner of the image. Along the wall at the far side of the room is a very large shelf with many equally-sized cubic cubbies filled with stacks of folded clothing. A glass display case is partially visible along the left-hand side of the image frame. Four torso-only mannequins are visible in the right-hand corner of the shop. Image 27 also shows the interior of the store. A man in a floral-print, collared, button-up shirt is holding up a jacket from one of the circular clothing racks and looking down at it. The large shelf with many cubbies is visible on the far wall. An area of flooring which is raised approximately one foot in relation to the surrounding floor is partially visible at the right-hand side of the image. There is a metal railing around this raised area. This image is oriented vertically. Image 28 is nearly identical to the previous image, but here the image is oriented horizontally. Image 29 shows the entrance to the Mr. Rags store. The photographer is standing directly outside of the doorway to the store. The main store sign above the entrance reads "MR. RAGS LTD." Two large, square windows are partially visible on the front of the store, one to the left of the door and one to the right. Each window is surrounded by sections of wall. There are irregular areas on these wall sections showing either exposed brick or a faux brick. A lantern-type light fixture is hanging down within the entry way of the store. Two circular racks of clothing are visible through the doorway into the store. Image 30 shows the front of the Mr. Rags store as well as several of the adjacent stores. This images was taken from in front of a beer brewing supply store, which is partially visible in the left-hand half of the image. This store is the closest store to the camera. The second-nearest store to the camera is Mr. Rags. Two storefronts are visible beyond the Mr. Rags store, but their names are difficult to make out in this image. Image 31 is nearly identical to image 30.Made/Created
