Description

Clear glass 2 quart canning jar with screw threads at the top for a screw-on lid, and a wire carrying handle. The jar is identified as a canning jar by the fact that it has the Hazel-Atlas symbol (a large capital letter "H" with a smaller capital "A" positioned underneath the H, appearing somewhat like a small step-stool or bench) embossed on the bottom. The jar is cylindrical with side mold seams extending from a horizontal bottom seam up to and over the lip. There is also a horizontal seam where the top is attached to the base. The shoulder area has decorative grooves. Embossed on the bottom: "M" then the Hazel-Atlas symbol, then "8". Also embossed on the bottom "6565".
