Mary Lou Everson, 1973. These two black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show an older woman (Mary Lou Everson) sitting behind a desk in an office. She has wavy hair which is put up in back and is wearing glasses. She is wearing a collared, button-up shirt with a design made up of star-shapes arranged in overlapping trails. There are many binders and otherwise bound documents in rows and stacks on the desk and table behind Ms. Everson. There is a set of windows on the wall at the right-hand side of the images, and there is a framed landscape painting hanging on the wall behind Ms. Everson. Image 22 shows Ms. Everson seated behind a desk. Her head is oriented toward the camera, but her body is turned partially toward the left-hand side of the image frame. Her left arm is resting on the desk and her right hand is held up near her face. The desk is partially visible in the image foreground. She is looking toward the camera and smiling. Based on the level of the camera, it appears that the photographer is either sitting down or crouching. One section of a window is visible at the right-hand side of the image frame. Image 23 is similar to the previous image, but here the photographer appears to have stood up and moved to their left by several feet. Here Ms. Everson's head and body are turned partially toward the right-hand side of the image frame. She is looking toward the camera and smiling. Here two sections of window are visible in the right-hand half of the image frame. Image 24 again shows Ms. Everson sitting behind her desk. The photographer has moved to their right by several feet, and here no windows are visible. Ms. Everson's body is turned partially toward the left-hand side of the image frame, and her head is turned toward the left and downward slightly. She is looking toward the camera and smiling. Image 25 is very similar to the previous image, but here Ms. Everson has tipped her head away from the camera slightly. Image 26 is similar to the previous images, but here the photographer appears to have crouched down in front of the desk. The camera appears to be at roughly the same vertical level as the top of the desk. Centered in the image foreground is a desktop name placard which reads "MARY LOU EVERSON." Several pens in pen holders are immediately behind the name placard. Ms. Everson's head and body are turned partially toward the left-hand side of the image frame. Her head is also tipped to her right, and she is looking toward the camera and smiling. Image 27 is very similar to image 26, but here the photographer has moved backward and to their left. Ms. Everson's head and body are oriented toward the camera and her head is tipped to her left. Image 28 is nearly identical to the previous image, but here Ms. Everson's head is tipped slightly less to her left. Image 29 is very similar to image 23, but here the photographer is standing farther away from Ms. Everson. Image 30 is nearly identical to image 23.Made/Created
