Rotary Winners, 1975. These two black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show two young women and two young men, each holding a trophy, posing together for photos. Image 40 shows the four young people standing in a row. At left is a young woman with long hair wearing a long-sleeved shirt under a sleeveless dress, or a single-piece dress which resembles this. Her head and body are turned slightly toward the right-hand edge of the image frame. She is looking to the right-hand side of the image and is smiling. Second from left is a young man with curly hair parted toward his right and glasses wearing a plaid shirt. His body is turned very slightly toward the left-hand side of the image frame and his head is oriented directly toward the camera. He is smiling. The young woman third from the left has shoulder-length hair parted toward her left and a polka-dotted dress with a matching short-sleeved jacket. The young man at right has shoulder-length hair and is wearing a blazer and a patterned tie. He is considerably taller than the other three young people. His head and body are turned partially toward the left-hand side of the image frame. He is looking toward the camera and smiling. All of these young people are shown roughly from the mid-thigh up. This image was captured in front of a brick wall. Image 41 is nearly identical to the previous image. Image 42 shows the four young people standing in a different configuration than in the previous images. They are all facing toward the camera and smiling. The young people are, from left to right, standing progressively closer to the camera. Here the taller young man in the blazer is at left. Second from left is the young woman with long hair. Third from left is the young woman with shorter hair. At right is the young man with curly hair and glasses. The young man at the left is shown from the mid-thigh up. The two young women are shown from the waist up. The young man at right is shown from the mid-torso up. In the left-hand side of the background is a double glass door with a shield-shaped emblem on the left-hand door. In the right-hand side of the background is a brick wall. Image 43 is nearly identical to image 42. Image 44 is very similar to the previous two images, but here the photographer has zoomed out or moved away from the young people slightly.
Printed in alternation along the bottom edge of these two strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM."Made/Created
