Description

Metal gauge for use in sharpening a cross cut saw. The object is a casting and has flat surfaces on three levels that are connected by vertical metal strips with a screw and locking washer at the top level; a screw on the second level; and a metal slot affixed by two screws on the bottom level. There is a second part of the object that also a casting, that is a flat strip with a cross-projection about two thirds of the distance toward one end. The second part (referred to in some literature as a "spider") has embossed "Anderson SET gauge" The object was used to guide a sharpening tool at the correct angle when sharpening a saw's teeth.
