Description

These two taps are used to cut threads inside a bored hole creating female threads which functions like a nut and receives a bolt or other structure that has male threads. The taps are tapered, that is the portion that first enters the hole is a smaller diameter than the upper portion, so as to make the cutting function a gradual process. The flat portion at the top fits into a handle or "T wrench." The taps are covered with a coat of rust, but appear usable although the cutting teeth may be "dulled" by age and wear. On the flat portion of the larger tap letters have been stamped, and appear to be a "D" and "R". On the flat portion of the smaller tap appears to be stamped a "D" or "O".
