Description

Cast iron tool for punching and setting rivets on harness or saddles. An upright frame is designed to sit on a flat surface with an opening for the leather to slide through. A curved arm moves an offset ring which gradually presses down on the punch or rivet bucker inserted into the framework. Any name or words on the object are obscured by a heavy coating of rust. The arm cannot be moved because of the rust. This item was found by Marshall Griffith, seven years old, by KinderCare on 7th Ave & College St., while he was digging on the playground. According to the accession records, this property belonged to the Robbins family at one time.
