Description

Metal device with a spike protruding from the end and a curved arm with a hook at the end attached to a pivot a short distance away from the spike. The spike is rammed into a log, then the hook grabs the log at a second location usually to turn the log. At the opposite end of the spike assembly is an opening to insert a wooden handle. No handle is present for this object. Stamped on one side of the body where the wooden handle could be inserted is what appears to be "P. V. CANT DOG 2 1/2" On the other side is what appears to be "BANGOR" and "MAINE".
