Description

Metal horseshoe consisting of steel formed in a rounded "U" shape. This shoe is equipped with "side clips," which extend from the outside-top side of the shoe to fit on the outside of the horse's foot and assist the nails in holding the shoe in place. The shoe also has a calkin, or stud, on the left heel. The right heel is smooth. The entire shoe has been painted with orange paint. On both the top and bottom sides, some paint has worn off and rust is apparent. Possibly used at the Fleetwood farm in Lacey.
