Description

Rock Festival, 1975. These two black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show people polishing rocks and people looking at rocks. Image 39 shows two men and one woman polishing rocks on rotary polishers. These three polishers are arranged in a row along the wall on the right-hand side of the image. Along the wall beyond the polishers is a large set of cabinets or lockers. This image was captured from partially behind the people polishing the rocks. Image 40 shows the same scene as image 39, but here the photographer has moved into line with the three people polishing. The two polishers farther from the camera are mostyl obscured behind the polisher nearest the camera. This image is oriented horizontally. Image 41 is very similar to the previous image, but here the image is oriented vertically. Image 42 shows two older people looking at rocks. Both of the people have short hair and glasses. The person on the right is wearing a short-sleeved, button up shirt with a floral print with an apron over it. The person at right is wearing a jacket over a button-up shirt. Both people are looking downward toward the rocks in their hands. Image 43 is nearly identical to the previous image. Image 44 shows the person on the right holding up the rock inbetween the two people. Both are looking at this rock. Images 1 and 2 are nearly identical to image 44.
