Mary Benson, 1974. This single black and white contact print strip was created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show an older woman (identified as Mary Benson, may in fact be a different woman, see "Notes & Legal" tab) with medium-length, wavy hair and glasses. She is wearing a short-sleeved, collared shirt with a short zipper at the neck. Bushes and small portions of one or more buildings are visible in the background. Image 39 shows the woman with her head and body turned partially toward the right-hand side of the image frame. She is looking toward the camera and smiling. A small portion of a building is visible in the top-left quadrant of the image. She is shown from the mid-torso up. Image 40 is very similar to the previous image, but here the photographer has moved slightly closer to, or zoomed in on, the woman. The photographer has also moved to their right slightly, making the woman's head and body oriented more directly toward the camera. A sign is visible on the building in the background with reads "OFFICE," with an arrow pointing to the left. A second, larger sign is partially visible above the office sign, but the text on it cannot be made out. Image 41 is similar to the previous two images, but here the woman's head and body are turned partially toward the left-hand side of the image frame. A very small portion of a building is visible in the upper-right corner of the image. Image 42 is nearly identical to image 41.Made/Created
