2007-012.A423PDescription
Shoot the Deschutes Fair, 1975. These three black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images were created using two separate film rolls, so some of the physical numbers on the strips are duplicated. For the purposes of this description, the strips will be grouped according to the film roll from which they originally came. Each group will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with the physical numbers on the strips (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images.
The images in group "a" show scenes at the Shoot the Deschutes Fair. Images 26a shows a person in shorts riding a bicycle through a roadway intersection. A Texaco sign and a South Sound Bank sign are visible in the background. Several cars, a Volkswagen bus and many power and light poles are also visible in the background. Image 27a shows a little boy wearing a baseball-style cap and a shirt with the number 59 on it looking toward the camera. Several other people are visible to the right of the boy, and a merry-go-round is partially visible in the background. Image 28a shows a person with shoulder-length hair behind a metal cage. This person is resting their chin on both hands. In the upper-left corner of the image is a sign which reads "NO REFUNDS" and "TICKETS GOOD ON DATE OF SALE ONLY."
